Body Contouring
Body contouring is a personalised surgical plan that reshapes the silhouette by combining techniques such as liposuction, fat transfer and, where needed, skin tightening in one carefully planned procedure. It refines proportions. It is not a weight-loss treatment.
Who this procedure suits
Body contouring looks at the body as a whole rather than one area at a time. It suits people who want better balance between the waist, abdomen, back, hips and thighs, and whose concerns involve more than one area.
A good candidate if
- Your weight is stable and close to your healthy range
- Stubborn fat in several areas affects your overall shape
- Your skin quality is reasonable, or mild laxity can be addressed in the same plan
- You expect improved proportions, not a different body
Not suitable if
- You have significant excess skin after major weight loss (a lifting procedure may suit you better)
- You plan further weight loss or a pregnancy soon
- You have uncontrolled diabetes or a bleeding or clotting disorder
- You smoke and are unwilling to stop before and after surgery
How the procedure is performed
Consultation
Dr Roseli examines your body as a whole, assesses fat distribution, skin quality and general health, and explains which combination of techniques fits your goals and which does not.
Preparation
Blood tests and, if needed, medical clearance. You will receive instructions on stopping smoking and certain medications, and on fasting before anaesthesia. The treatment areas are marked on the day of surgery.
Surgery
Through small incisions, fat is removed and sculpted from the planned areas. Where medically appropriate, the plan may include VASER ultrasound-assisted liposuction, fat transfer to areas that need volume, and a skin-tightening technology such as Argo Plasma or J-Plasma. Compression garments are fitted at the end of the procedure.
Follow-up
We review healing, swelling and garment fit at scheduled visits. Lymphatic drainage massage may be recommended during recovery.

Honest medicine — the risks
Every surgical procedure carries potential risks. Risks vary with the procedure and your health, and the surgeon will discuss them with you along with the measures used to reduce them:
Frequently asked questions
How is body contouring different from liposuction?
Liposuction is one technique. Body contouring is a plan that may combine liposuction with other techniques, such as fat transfer or skin tightening, to improve your overall shape rather than a single area.
Is body contouring a weight-loss procedure?
No. It refines proportions and works best for people who are already close to a stable, healthy weight.
Can all areas be treated in one surgery?
This depends on your health, the volumes involved and a safe operating time. Some plans are better divided into stages. We discuss a safe plan during consultation.
How long will I wear a compression garment?
Usually for several weeks. Dr Roseli will tell you exactly how long based on your procedure.
When will I see the final result?
Your shape improves gradually over the first weeks, and the final contour is usually visible after several months once swelling has settled.
Is body contouring the same as a body lift?
No. If the main concern is significant excess skin after major weight loss, a Lifting 360 may be more appropriate. Dr Roseli will advise what suits your case.
Is this procedure right for you?
The only correct answer comes from a clinical examination. Book a consultation — in person, or by video if you are outside the UAE.
